Scam Alert - Bloggers, heads up...

So I just received this email:

I just want to thank you for your wonderful blog

I read the post "Friday night highlights" and then I spent another hour on your blog by reading your posts with pleasure :) Every article is interesting and easy to read. I really like the "Running out the door...".

I work for Jooble company, we aggregate job adverts around the world.

My job is to persuade bloggers to link to our site.

I really love my job! We have a friendly team and good management, but unfortunately I have no idea how to convince a blogger to link to us, I'm afraid I might lose my job because of it :(

And that is why, instead of sending letters to thousands of different blogs, I am reading yours.

Honestly, I am not really sure if the link to our website in United States -, will be appropriate for your blog, but if you believe it will and you can add it, I would be really grateful to you! Our site is really cool, it can greatly help hundreds of people to find jobs.

I wish you to have a good day and excellent mood! Thanks again for your nice blog. Write more! Thanks!

P.S. I am a Aquarius by zodiac sign too :)

I thought it sounded a bit fishy so I googled this dude's name and found another blogger that posted about this same person and the email sent to her (almost identical to mine). Apparently "Serge" has sent this out to many bloggers. Not sure of his motive, but I wanted to inform my blog-friends. :)

  1. Roni, glad I could help. Its really sad that old Sergey boy is still making the rounds. When it sounds too good to be true it is! What part of Jersey are in right now? I live in jersey

  2. Melissa,
I'm in Paterson right now while we're in school. Where are you?

  3. Roni thanks for informing us...geee that's sad....

  4. Roni, ah ok so you are north of me. I'm in North Brunswick which is central Jersey. Near Rutgers.

  5. Thanks for sharing. Yeah, that sounds like a hot fishy mess. He probably thinks that fashion bloggers tend to shop more and probably shop online. He's most likely trying to get credit card or account information through phishing or something. SMH

  6. thank you for informing us!
shall be more cautious next time

Khalilah, I bet you're totally right about the phishing, however, I lol'd when I read your comment because that was on our computers test yesterday. ;D
