"I've got a date with the night"

[post title from song by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's here - listen to it, it's bad ass. I always get so revved up when I hear it. I played it on repeat the whole way home from school on Friday.]
Judith March dress, oxford pumps: ModCloth (a long time ago)// Clutch: so old, I don't even remember
All [last] week long I kept finding myself thinking, "boy, I could use a glass of wine or a martini right about now"; usually when I found my face buried in books that were less than sort-of-interesting and typing up analytic papers. So by the time Friday rolled around and I suffered through reading a play with way too much stage direction, 8:30 couldn't come fast enough - Clash Bar opens at 8:30. (Another reason I miss Vegas: bars were open all day, everyday. But let me clarify, I'm nowhere near an alcoholic; I just like a drink here and there and wish that anytime I wanted one, there was a groovy bar ready and open.) Anywho, Mikey and I headed to Clash where our friend Bob served me up two John Waters-melon martinis, a salty pretzel shot, and a cider. Needless to say, that was a little much. I sang (more like, shouted) a country song out the passenger window of my car on the way home to people standing on their stoops, ate a slice of chocolate cake when I got home, made friendly with porcelain, and passed the heck out. Thankfully I was hangover free Saturday morning! Nothing sucks more than losing a whole day in bed because you were a Boozy Suzy the night before. Other than that, the rest of my weekend was spent watching Celebrity Ghost Stories on the couch - I'm seriously addicted to that show.
How were y'alls weekends? Anyone really enjoy him or herself like me? hehe Have a great week back at work, school, etc.!

  1. I love that you were shouting a Chris Young song. We would have so much fun boozing it up together. I tend to sing/shout Garth Brook songs when I get smashed. Fun times.

Girl, Garth Brooks is my homie. I sing him, too. Especially "bring me two pina coladas" or "I've got friends in low places" :)

  2. I love the Yeah Yeah Yeahs they are one of my favourite bands. So glad you werent sick on Saturday there is nothing worse than wasting your weekend with a hang over. I always lie in bed feeling so depressed and angry at myself when I do that. You look cute as a button in that dress, you have the nicest wardrobe. I love all of your dresses.Im seriously going to have to find where I can get Celebrity Ghost Stories it sounds so good.

    1. Yay, a fellow Karen O and the gang fan! Oh, I've lost many days in bed with a hangover and I am just pissed, like, "why did I do that!?...again!" haha
Thank you so much for the sweet words, Luan. Definitely check out Celeb Ghost Stories! It's really really really good! Some stories are better than others, but it all depends on the celeb telling it and how good they are at that technique, but at least the dramatizations are usually pretty creepy, albeit incredibly cheesy. :)

  3. As a postgrad student, I feel your pain! Everyone needs a break from the books every now and then. Ghost shows are a must for me- Celebrity Ghost stories is my weekend guilty pleasure as well!

    1. Neat! Isn't it such a creepy but wonderful show? Some of the stories have me crying and stuff, when they're about a family member that passed or whatnot. I always tell my husband that if I pass away before him, I'm going to come and prove to him that ghosts exist. haha :)

  4. You're dress is so awesome! This story gives me a flash back to when we sang Dwight in Vegas drunk off our butts and got mased.. (Or is it maced?) Because of it!
That was a rough night, huh?

    1. LMAO! We got so crunk and drunk that night. One of my favorite nights of your time in Vegas. Then again, we had so much fun there, partying every other day! haha When in Vegas. You know, I still don't remember why we claimed we were maced (I had to dictionary it to figure how it was spelled, lol)! I think we made it up! hahaha

  8. Hey Cutie! I'm BACK! Thanks for checking on me! I appreciate it more than words can say! Check out my latest post!
Anyhoo, I still remember you asking if I modeled before?!?! Sure. I have modeled for Versace, Dolce&Gabbana, Gucci and recently Chanel.... sadly, only in my fantasies! (hahaha) So so sweet of you to say! But I guess I just have been looking at magazines for so long that I automatically "assume the pose"! I only wish I looked at good as you in a natural pose!
Love your caring heart! Thanks again for checking on me!

hahaha you really had me with the modeling! I totally believed that you modeled for all those designers! I need to learn how to "assume the pose" myself. I guess I don't look at mags enough.
No problem, love. Like I said, I miss you and it had been far too long for me to go without hearing/reading what's happening in your [fashionable] life. ♥

  9. There is not a single thing I don't love about this outfit! I really love the way you're wearing your hurr too! There is absolutely nothing wrong with a friday drink to finish off the week after reading and writing essays and assignments. Luke & I usually reserve Sundays as our day to unwind from the week. After work we tidy our flat, and then go out to dinner with a bottle of wine and come home and drink whiskey and watch dvds.

    1. Thank you so much, Lauren sweetie! Your Sundays sound magical. Mikey and I are usually couch-ridden on Sundays, so Friday or Saturday is when we get our drink on, sometimes both. It happens. A good glass of wine or refreshing drink is just the way I prefer to wind down. It does it for me. :) Thanks for nice comment, friend.

    1. HAHA! I am pretty funny, I admit. I like to dance and sing...and hug everyone. Much better version of the 'drunk' I used to be. But I don't drink the hard stuff anymore. ;)
One of my dreams is to get tipsy with all my blog besties. Imagine all the fun!

  12. Yay for chocolate cake and a hangover free Saturday! Looks like making friendly with the porcelain served you well, heh. ;) I seem to get a hangover no matter how much, or how little I drink, so lately I just haven't been drinking at all. I can't say I miss it all that much either, which is a surprise. :)

Now, in response to your comment on my latest vlog.. I'm sure you do have an accent! I don't think that I have an accent either, but I know that to someone overseas I probably do. :P And you're totally welcome for the shout out as well! I have less than a handful of close bloggy friendships myself, but less than a handful is reward enough for me. :)

    *hugs*

    Hope all is going well!

    1. I don't blame you for not missing it. The aftermath of drinking can be quite cruel and well, ugly. :)
I agree on the close friendships being well worth it! It's why we 'do what we do' haha so to speak. Thanks for the comment, Felicity! xo

And the porcelain line was a lot classier than saying the way it really went down. hehe It happens.
Oh, I always have fun singing country! I wanted everyone to know it, apparently! :)
Have a great week, Trice! xo

  15. I loved this look on IG - it is even more fabulous in person!! You look beautiful. I love the little birdy detail, too cute. It sounds like a fun night. You would be too much fun to go out with. Those drinks all sound great. I am glad though that you were feeling ok the next day. Loosing a day to the night before is the worst.

I need to see the celebrity ghost story show!!! Ugh. I wish I had cable.

Oh! Aaaaaand the lil lady bug tattoo is just too cute.

You can catch Celeb Ghost Stories online!! When I miss episodes or I'm out of town, I just watch them on my laptop!
And aww you caught my lovebug tattoo :) Thanks, sweets. ♥
