Taking the tags off

I finally wore a dress I've had since Thanksgiving.
I really love this dress. (Apparently every other blogger and their momma does, too.) It's really easy to wear and so thick and comfy. I just wish I could have gotten better pictures, but we're still using my phone! Baahh!  >:/  And I'm still doing the same poses. ;)
Nothing makes me happier than a twirly, girly dress.
Dress, cardigan: ModCloth
Tights: We Love Colors
Hat: Urban Outfitters
Flats: from my wedding day
Owl necklace: gift from Mikey

I wear tights just about every day and I wish I could do something about the way dresses get all bunched up between your legs when you wear them. Ugh, so annoying...and sort of embarrassing. Stop it tights, stop drawing attention to my private parts.
One of my best friends in the world, Stephanie, just emailed me from her deployed location and let me know that she'll be stopping by to spend a week with me...next Tuesday!! It stinks that I'll have to go to school while she's in town, but I'm going to make every minute count. I LOVE seeing my best friends. As I've said before, I don't get to see them as often as I'd like since we're all scattered about the country. I'm looking forward to seeing a face I've known for years.
Before I go, I just wanted to give a BIG Happy Birthday shout out to my fashionista in crime (who has recently slacked off on her blog - but she's forgiven), Mrs. Khalilah Jones!!! I'm so happy to call her my friend. She is such an amazing woman and the definition of a good person. I love you, girl and may this year bring you a basket full of blessings.
Y'all have a wonderful Tuesday night. I'm gonna eat some Fruity Pebbles cereal and do some h.w. The latter being the obvious lame part of my night.

Love,
Roni

  1. - This dress is so gosh darn cute. I have seen a few other bloggers with it but it doesn't make me love it any less, and it looks so good with the hat. I really like the twirling picture - great action shot!!
    - I hate when dresses get all bunched up or cling to tights, it is the worst.
    - Have fun with your friend next week :]
    - Also, ModCloth update - my order shipped, wahoo!! I can't wait to start my MC addiction.

    1. ~Thanks, Allison! :)
~Omg, isn't it horrible?! It happens the most when I'm walking around campus...the dress just starts going between my legs and staying there. >:(
~Thank you, I'm very excited for her visit!! Expect lots of pictures. :)
      ~Eee!!! Mine shipped yesterday, too!

    2. - I feel like dresses get all bunched up, etc. at the worst times haha.

      - I wrote back to you on my blog about being an affiliate but just incase you don't end up seeing it I wanted to let you know on here just to make sure:

Being an affiliate means that you get 7% commission off of all the sales directed via the link on your blog or website. I think you are right about being sponsored, you get free things for wearing them - which sounds perfect for you since you already are a model for them basically!!

      http://www.modcloth.com/help/affiliate

All you need to do is go to that link, sign up with a program (I chose Commission Junction ), and then apply to ModCloths program. It took about a month for me to hear back from them. And who knows, maybe they will sponsor you too!! They also send affiliates emails to keep them posted on upcoming sales and what not which is really nice.

    3. Roni! I am so sorry about my giveaway not being nonfbook user friendly. I feel like a jerk - it also isn't applicable to anyone outside of the U.S. :[ Buttttt I will have another one shortly that works for all of my readers.

    4. Allison,
First off, thank you for the affiliate info. I attempted to apply but got confused before I even started it seemed. So I just gave up. Lol Maybe I'll go back to it later and try to see what I was supposed to do. (I got confused on picking an affiliate network or something.)

And hey, NO PROBLEM on the giveaway thing. It's not your fault! I should have just kept my FB account open but I closed it last December because I was bored with it. :) I look forward to your next giveaway though! Lord knows I've entered more giveaways than I can even remember and have not gotten lucky once! :/ I just never have much luck though. Damn those luck gods that skipped over me! :)

    5. The affiliate thing confused me too. Once you pick an affiliate network though (it is how they pay you) everything makes more sense, so good luck!

You will win soon! I have a feeling. Just have to stay positive :] Also, I think doing an initial entry and then going back a day or two to do an additional entry helps instead of doing them all at once.

  8. Have fun seeing Stephanie!

I love the dress, the collar is so cute and I love how you styled it with the tights. I have a different problem with my tights though, after a while they lose their elasticity and start to fall down. It's so embarassing! xx

    1. Oh, I'm sure it'll be a great time, thank you, Sarah.
I have one pair in my whole collection of tights that has lost its elasticity. I don't know why, they weren't cheap. I've had cheaper pairs last longer than that one. But yeah that could be pretty embarrassing if they fell down pretty low! Lol

  9. AAAAAAH so cute! I love that dress! I wish it didn't cost so much for shipping at Modcloth, otherwise I would be buying everything in a jiffy! Have fun with your pal, I hope I can come visit you someday as well!

    1. I thought it was a flat $7 charge for international shipping on ModCloth? I didn't know it was more than that. That sucks. :/
I hope and wish and pray that I can visit Australia (YOU) someday!! That would be the most! ♥

  12. loving the tights you paired with this super cute dress. I have the problem too with my tights/skirts. Have you tried static guard?

    1. I have not tried static guard. A long time ago I read that putting lotion on the area that clings to the skirt would help it to stop, so I used to do that, but I don't find it helps all the time. I will have to get a hold of static guard...after I google it.
Yay! I just entered. I better win it this time. ;)

  14. I live in dresses and tights! All you need to fix the clinging and bunching thing is a slip. I used to have the same problem. Everything was fine at home, but as soon as I went out it began... By the time I walked from the parking lot to the store my dress would be dangerously close to indecent exposure. Ack! Now that I wear slips under my dresses I never have to worry about flashing anyone. It also keeps your dress from bunching between your legs.

You look great in that dress. I love the twirling picture! And that little owl necklace is adorable.

    1. I have a vintage slip that is in amaaazing condition and just hangs on a hanger collecting dust. I shall put it to good use now. Thanks for the tip! Between that and static guard, I'm sure I'll be set every time I don dresses + tights.
      Thank you, love ♥

  15. I definitely share your annoyance with tights & awkward bunching, but these are so cute it's totally overlooked! The peter pan collar is perfect, as is the hat. And my mild obsession with owls obviously gives you bonus points for the adorable necklace. You have such a cute girly style! :)
