The Jersey Shore

[Flashback: A post from when my cousin Mercedes was visiting town.]

I had never been to the infamous Seaside Heights until we went in July. My expectations did not align with reality...which made for a great day trip! There were no mobs of guidos or guidettes and the boardwalk wasn't as grimy as I had pictured in my head. Maybe the freaks come out at night, and we left before 7 p.m. Then again, people that don't know me probably think I'm a freak, what with my zombie tattoo and all.
I never have the dumb idea to ride roller coasters, but by the end of the day I had grown a pair and convinced us all to ride that one on the pier. I thought it looked like no big deal. I was so mad at myself when the ride was over.
Finally, here's what I took home from the shore:
We were using expired sunblock. I had no idea sunblock expires. Noted.
I hope y'all enjoyed all the pictures! Happy Friday! <3

    1. I can't believe I wanted to get on it either. I suggested the same thing at a recent trip to Coney Island, but I'll discuss that in another post. I'm getting brave is the bottom line and I have no idea where it came from.
Come over here and have margaritas with me! ;) Nah, they're better in Texas. Although the ones at this restaurant are sooo strong. I have two and I'm goooooood. haha
It definitely hurt for a week. Showering went from my favorite thing ever to the worst.

    1. Oooh that was not a tan. It didn't turn into a tan, nothing. It was all burn. :(
The Jersey Shore show is a waste of time. I used to watch it but somehow it managed to get even dumber. lol Um...as far as its location...haha...it's about an hour and a half south of where I live and I live in the northern part of Jersey near NYC. All I know is that it spans through several beach towns like Seaside Heights and Point Pleasant. :)

  4. Oh man your suit is adorable. Yeah, I'm a baby about Roller Coasters. That one doesn't look too bad…but I'm not a good judge. My first roller coaster EVER was in college at King's Island and Grant took me on the "easiest" one which ended up being the very worst one.

    1. Thank you, Violet! And yeah, apparently I'm not a good judge either. I've been getting a little brave since I was forced to ride about 6 rollercoasters at Six Flags last year. I hated it every bit but for some reason I've been thinking "if it doesn't flip upside down" or go up super high then it's cool for me. Wrong. haha

  6. Holy crap that's a bad burn. Dam. On the plus side you look pretty darn cute in your suit. I think we have the same suit but mine has cherries on it. Just another reason why we should be besties

  7. OH MY!! You poor thing. Ouchieeeee. At least your swim suit is super adorable - sort of makes up for it? Also, looks like such a fun outing. I totally imagined Jersey Shore being a lot more wild and gross too, haha. I don't do roller coasters any more - no way jose!

    1. LOL! I was expecting something totally different. I had a good time though. In fact, I've been bugging Mikey about us going back for another spontaneous day trip. If for no other reason than me needing my funnel cake fix already. I've had about 5 this summer which is REALLY awesome considering they only have them at fairs and whatnot. I've been to several beaches and boardwalks and one fair this summer...funnel cakes are my crack!
Thanks for the comment, Allison ♥

    1. I recommend you do that! hehe I seriously never knew that it could expire and be ineffective on protecting your skin. It really did a number on us but I'm the only one who got lobster-toasted. I won't be making that mistake ever again!
      Thank you, Hannah :)
