Cherry.

This vintage-inspired beauty was listed as the Cherry Valance dress on ModCloth a couple years back and being the huge Outsiders fan I am, I just had to get her. The only thing I was missing when I wore her this time was my cherry red hair. *le sigh* I really do miss it.
Last summer...

Two days ago...
Normally I would have worn a different bag, but I only brought this one for the trip.
Dress: ModCloth// Bag: Kate Spade Ruby Street Little Kennedy//Flats: Old Navy

The picture quality is a bit shit and I look extremely disheveled. These were taken after we'd been out in the sticky, icky humidity for hours drinking Budweisers and telling stories on the condo balcony. The waves crashing not far in front of us were the most soothing sound you could hear on a Monday night. My friend Chappie only lives a couple hours away from Wilmington, so she drove up and spent the day with us; it's been so wonderful seeing her twice this summer!
Two things: 1) Two years ago today Mikey and I moved from Vegas to New Jersey...crazy how time flies. 2) Fire engine red hair was a drag to maintain, but what if I went to the shade in the last picture of this post? Yes, no, maybe so? I thought it was pretty and it didn't bleed on my pillow cases so that's a plus. Anywho, I hope y'all have a happy humpday, loves. <3

  1. Wow your red hair looks amazing. It would have been a pain to maintain and I so understand what you mean about getting colour on the pillow case. Mine does that all the time and mine is not even that red. I seriously want to raid your wardrobe you have the best dresses!!!

    1. Thank you :)
It was such a pain to keep up with. And it not only stained my pillow cases, but my collars, our shower curtain, towels and really, just anything it touched when wet. So basically when my hair got wet, it bled. Which meant going in the ocean or the pool was a drag because I had red dripping down my face and staining my forehead if I didn't wipe it in time - quite embarrassing! I just wish I didn't love the color itself so much! haha

    1. Awww, I'd like to say thank you and I agree! (On the bright and bubbly comment :))
Oh, that color before the bright red was so much simpler. I didn't need to go in to the salon to touch it up as often because I still had my brown hair in there too, so if it grew in it didn't look awful. I think that's the color I def want again!
Thanks for the comment, love ♥

  6. Wow! That hair colour was awesome!! I guess it would be pretty time-consuming to maintain, so maybe something a bit easier would still be fun? A change is as good as a holiday :)

    1. Awwwie, thanks Violet. I do love the brown hairs, but like I said earlier, I have this sort of "the grass may be greener" flirtation with the red hair...*sigh* it's so pretty but boy is it a lot of work, a big mess and expensive to keep up with. Plus the shade up there required a full head of bleach *yikes!* and that was horrrriiiblleee for my hair, even now. I have been holding out on redying it any color at all, but I'm really leaning toward the shade of red (well, it was highlighted with my brown hair so it was really easy to maintain) I had right before I went this route.
Ha, and thanks but dude, I am totes disheveled in those pics! I almost didn't even post them. I appreciate that you're not a mean, evil person though and didn't call me out haha! :)

And lol, people definitely looked at me all sorts of crazy when I had this hair. I was annoyed at first and ready to snap at some of them but my husband reminded me that I DID have BRIGHT RED HAIR - weird looks was part of the package. :)

  14. I like the natural hair on you. I had bright pink for 5 months. after 3 months the maintenance was easy. Its hard though. They are both cute! red is such a statement but classic hair is so versatile!

    1. Ooooh, bright pink is sooo pretty! I wanna try that one of these days. Not anytime soon. Maybe next year. I bet you looked awesome in it!
And you're right, normal hair is just so easy. No dye, no appointments, no mess, no money...ahhh, that does sound tempting, too. ;)

  15. That dress is adorable. It sounds like you have been having the perfect summer. I say bring on the red!! You look so cute as a redhead. It is a fun little pop of color. You can always dye it back, and life is short. But your hair looks pretty brunette too. I am just love red hair, haha.

I agree on the red. It's just hair and I can always dye it back when I'm "over" the red hair.
Thanks for the sweet comment, love ♥
