Roots and conclusions

First this awesome picture that I've had as my background for months. I love getting dressed in the morning and then looking at myself in the mirror, gasping and quoting this picture. Lol, so dramatic.
I used to love going into the art galleries when I lived in Vegas and checking out the Andy Warhol and Lichtenstein pictures.

Today I went back to my country roots by wearing my old cowboy boots. I still channeled my inner granny by wearing the dark mustard cardigan though.
Dress: ModCloth; Cardi: Forever 21; Tights: Target: Boots: Sheplers
Maroon Velvet Bow: American Apparel
Mikey ordered some of my Christmas presents off ModCloth and the package came in the mail today (it was HUGE!!). He must have ordered a lot of money's worth of stuff 'cause they gave me four free gifts! This awesome compass/locket/clock necklace, a gold bow ring, an icicle-like statement necklace and some cute buttons. Mikey went ahead and just gave me these since they were technically from ModCloth, not him. :)
This has been a while coming now: I think I wanna delete my Facebook account. Maybe not "forever", but definitely for a while. I need an official break from it. I've been finding myself becoming more and more distant from it, where I used to be so obsessed! There are some things that irk me about it, undoubtedly. For instance, the fact that some friends post their entire lives on there and if I don't login some days (which has been happening more and more) then I miss out on knowing what's going on with them. I want to get back to that old fashioned way of actually keeping in touch with someone because you give a damn about them, not just sharing your business with 500 people and thinking they all genuinely care. I know not everyone on my friends list cares about everything going on with me, so that's honestly what I love about this blog. It's a personal little nook that attracts only the people that wish to 'be in the know'; and I've seen the people that actually take the time to come all the way over here from Facebook and read what I've been up to. Plus they usually text or call me and let me know they're reading along, if they're not technically "following" me. Hell, even if friends aren't leaving comments here, I know they're reading my posts when I see them reference stuff I've shared. Lol Another thing I am fed up with on Facebook is the overwhelming negativity that some people leave on each others statuses, most commonly over politics. That annoys the crap out of me! And that doesn't happen here. I love the positive environment of the blog world. There's no long winded drama. Everyone is encouraging and complimentary in nature (I'm sure I'll meet a jerk eventually, but hopefully not). I've met people that I might have never met, and they're more supportive than some of the friends I have! haha Crazy, right? Obviously not all my friends. I have some pretty amazing friends in real life. I'm just really fond of the upbeat folks I've had the pleasure of meeting through our shared passions for fashion in the blogosphere. Plus, everyone knows that you see who your true friends are once you get rid of Facebook. (Lol @ how much technology has owned our social skills.) My girlfriend Chappie said she got rid of her account for months for the same reason: to see who would keep in touch once she was no longer easily reached by the click of a mouse, and they actually had to voice-communicate. I still talked to her on the phone almost everyday when she was MIA. Our friendship wasn't hindered a bit. But that took the both of us, giving a shit. Y'all see what I'm saying? Anyway, I'll likely do that tonight after this post. We're about to have some friends over for beer pong! Mikey and I spent the entire afternoon cleaning and buying drinks. Which brings me to this great picture:

There was a moment today where I was scrubbing at the bottom of our bathroom sink, and I thought to myself, "What kind of women actually enjoy cleaning?!!" Are any of my friends & blog-friends any of those girls? If so, what is so enjoyable about it?? :)
I bought one of those retro tin signs for my kitchen that says, "I understand the concept of cooking and cleaning, just not as how it applies to me." I love it. Mikey just rolls his eyes...because he knows I honestly feel that way. Haha
I hope y'all had a great day!! Between having company tonight, having to turn in two stories to my Fiction Writing professor by tomorrow, and Pop Pop's 80th birthday on Sunday, this is going to be a BUSY weekend. I'm going to try my hardest to post once daily. Bear with me.

Bearhugs,
Roni
