3: the charmer

I'm really happy to know I haven't been boring y'all with all the mushy love stuff. I'm still in anniversary mode, so thanks for letting me play it out :)
Third Anniversary ~ aka two days ago
We wanted to try a new restaurant in Jersey since we're always so quick to head into New York for a romantic evening. Mikey went straight to the ultimate source for fine dining: his dad. My father-in-law suggested the Highlawn Pavilion or its fabulous food and million dollar view of New York City; we loved it. The gentleman seated next to us thought we were celebrating my birthday since we "look too young to be celebrating three years of marriage." We've gotten that a lot this week - I'll take it as a compliment.
I enjoyed 3.5 glasses of champagne. Yummmm
Sorry for the (lack of) picture quality. This is after I clicked the "enhance" option on my mac. The lighting in these restaurants, as I'm sure y'all know, is really dim and romantical, so my phone couldn't put up a good fight. Lucky for me, Mikey finally found a new camera online and it's on its way now!
I'm a sucker for a good filet mignon or fish, but this night I was in the mood for a hunk of beef. The filet was absolutely scrumptious and I ate every bite. Mikey's big steak had even more flavor...I stole several bites of his...without asking. For dessert I ordered 3 small variations of creme brulee and we were surprised when our waiter came out with candles on both of our dessert plates. There were even cute pieces of dark chocolate with "Happy Anniversary" inscribed on them. How thoughtful!
After dinner stroll around the pavilion.
And here we are before we left the house earlier...
Mikey wore a handsome, plaid sports coat that used to be his dad's. He looked adorable.
I donned a pale pink floral trimmed dress w/grey heels, cardi & necklace. I love pink & grey together!

You can't tell in these pics, but my hair is as short as it was during our first anni. I was going bananas trying to style it before we went out. I cut it really short last week because it was just totally dead from having bleached it last year. I HATE short hair (on me), so I didn't want to wear it down this night. Thank God my hair grows as fast as weeds.
Anywho, thanks for reading! Y'all have a lovely night. <3

  1. Roni I love everything about this post. And since I also love lists, I'll tell you my thoughts in list form yayyyy (right??).

    1. Your bangs. Adorable.
    2. Mikey's so handsome in his dad's blazer! So debonair!
    3. People thinking you're young. Jesus Christ eventually I'll take it as a compliment, but I'm tired of people thinking I'm 18.
    4. CHAMPAGNE woohooo!!! As much as we've been talking and commenting about booze, it's about time you had some : )
    5. Your food looks amazing. Creme brulee yum!!
    6. You look stunning, per usual.

Glad yall had a good time! Best of luck on your 4th year of marriage sweet thing!

    1. Hooray for people who love lists! :))
      1. Thank you! Funny you mention it because I too thought I was having a particularly fantastic bangs-day. haha Some days they just don't lay right.
      2. Yesss, he looked very shnazzy. I'll say thanks for him! ;)
      3. Oh, take it as a compliment! I miss getting mistaken for 19. Although I do get mistaken for being a true freshman in college, not just an old person who started late. hehe So that's still pretty good. Enjoy your youth! That's all I have to say about that.
      4. My thoughts exactly. Mmmhm.
      5. I could eat creme brulee everyday for the rest of forever.
      6. Aww, thank you, love. For all your sweet words. I appreciated your thoughtful comment very much.

  2. It looks like you two had a lovely night. You both look fabulous in your spiffy duds. The view of NYC is beautiful. I would take the birthday thing as a compliment. It is so sweet that they wrote happy anniversary in chocolate :] Your hair looks super cute up like that. I am sure it looks just as cute down. I need to cut my hair badly too. It is so fried and damaged from not cutting it in over a year. Anywho, happy anniversary again you two!! (my comment is pretty choppy, probably should have broken it up like Melanie)

    1. Thanks, Allison! We sure did. Anniversaries are so special, they feel like being on honeymoon again. You will see that someday, too! :)
I'm trying to hold off on taking pictures with my short hair, but I do have some from last week when my friend was here so I'll put them on soon in a post. Your hair always looks so healthy so maybe you just need a tiny little trim.
Your comment wasn't choppy! It was perfectly delightful, as usual. ♥

  3. Awww congrats and I must say, I am overly jealous of your perfect outfit and you look so adorable in it! And yes, I am too a huge sucker for good filet mignon. Pretty much any good steak is fine by me :)

    1. Gee thanks, Violet! You're such a sweetie pie!
Haha, we'd definitely have fun together at a bbq with all the steaks and A1 sauce then. lol

  4. happy annversary!!!! You two look great and lovely together!!!
    And your dress is fabulous!!

  5. your husband looks so dapper all dressed up as do you. Pink and grey is such a great color combo. Very feminine and pretty. I hope you wear your hair down soon. I want to see the cut!

    1. I'll post photos with my hair down from last week. I've been wearing it under hats alot this week. Thank you for the sweet words, Amber!

    1. Spanks, Jessa!! I hope you post more pictures from your wedding. I just love all the ones I've seen so far! Y'all are such an adorable couple as well. :)

  8. Love the outfit! But, I'm totally jelly. I wish my hair grew fast. :/

    1. My hair growing so fast is one of the few things I feel I got lucky with haha And thank God because I do so much crap to it. I get in moods. I wanna dye it. I wanna cut it. I wanna do this or that. And then I'm like, "Oh wait, I wanna change it again." I'm so happy it grows back fast. Now if it could only speed it up even more now, I hate it this length. It's so inconvenient. The only cool thing is how quickly I can blow dry my hair right now. Are you doing anything to your hair soon? I have a mind to dye mine blue for some reason. lol
And thanks, babe. ♥ love you
