Thrifted

I have been meaning to tell y'all that I went thrifting recently, while I was in Texas actually and today. I hadn't been in some time and had been hankering for some thrift action, especially since so many of my blogger buddies do it so often and I'm all too often envious of their great finds at such ridiculous prices (ahem, Allison)!
If any readers are ever in San Antonio, I recommend paying a visit to the colossal thrift venue known as Texas Thrift. I used to go every weekend when I was in high school and it's still my favorite thrift store ever. I picked up these three beauties there a couple weeks ago. The one on the far left screams Easter; the denim/floral maxi says, "I live in Yankee country, but I'm still a Texan"; and that little red, mod dress is obviously my favorite.
Today I checked out the Goodwill a few towns over and found all these pretty things:
Yellow cropped tweed jacket//Pale pink blazer (amazing!)//Brown&black houndstooth skirt
Clearly I was in a jacket/blazer mood. And my 3 absolute favorites from today...
Cropped military style jacket w/embellishments on shoulder//Vintage Brunswick oxford bowling shoes//chocolate satchel
When I saw this military jacket the first thing that popped into my head was Laddie from The Lost Boys. Hopefully many of you are familiar with one of the most amazing vampire movies (from the 80's) ever. If you're not, rent it.  It's actually my favorite vampire movie, with Dracula at a close second. Anyway, there's a little boy named Laddie who turns vampire in it, and he wears a strikingly similar jacket. Here he is lookin' all cute and stuff

It fits like a glove and rules so hard; I can't wait to wear it and snap some pics. My picture does it no justice here.
Welp, here's to hoping y'all are having a cozy Thursday night and ready to take on the weekend. I know I am.

Love,
Roni

P.s. And on a non-thrift note, I wanted to share a dress that I have been coveting for all of about three or so days...I bought it early this morning and I can't wait for it to get here!

    1. Thanks, Francesca! And I knooowww, I love that red one. Too bad I had purchased a vintage inspired one similar to this one months and months ago and still haven't worn it. I wish I had just saved my money waiting on this one. Especially since it's one of a kind. oh well, how would I have known? :)

  4. One: Love, love, LOVE the blazers and oxfords - fantastic finds!
Two: LOVE The Lost Boys! Most people my age have no idea what I'm talking about when I reference the movie, but I adore it! (Curse being born in the wrong generation...)
Three: Congrats on the non-thrift floral number. Too cute. :)

  8. Well that "I live in Yankee country, but I'm still a Texan" dress is so us! :) I've never thrifted in Texas before but I love the clothes you scored. The next time we go (hopefully this summer) I'm gonna scour Austin for some vintage finds. You should come :)

    1. Yess, I thought of you when I bought it! I can SO see this being more your style than mine, but I really had to have it since it was so Texas-esque.
I love Austin! It's great for boozing and vintage I hear. We'll be in San Antonio in June. Perhaps if you're in Austin during the time I am in Tx we can meet. Austin is only an hour from my family and I love going there for at least a day when I'm in town. Definitely let me know if you go.

  9. Incredible thrift finds!! Haha, thanks for including me. That red dress is sooo pretty. It has been fun catching up on all the post I have missed because I was able so see some of these pieces styled :] That military jacket is awesome. I am thinking I need to get to the movie store pronto now. I haven't seen that movie yet.

Also - the MC dress is beautiful. I think I need to go ahead with my MC purchase - eeep!

    1. Thank you! I was hoping you'd be proud of me. haha! But seriously, I didn't get these at the SUPER awesome prices like you normally do, but still, the dresses were under $5 so that was good enough for me. Pretty much the only things that were higher priced for thrift items were all my blazers that I picked up. Every one of them was $10-12, but they were so nice I didn't care. Especially that cropped, embellished jacket.
Anywho, thank you for taking the time to catch up on my little blog. It honestly means a lot. Now, go watch Lost Boys!!!!! :)
