Also, you'd think summer would be the worst to begin binging on enchiladas and tacos, but we've been eating a ton of Mexican food and enjoying some margaritas before dinner time, which means I get sleepy by about 4 p.m. (Granny alert!)
Mikey came up to me when I finished getting dressed today and said, "You really like that hat, don't you?" I knew he was hinting at my overkill wear of it. But I love hats, more so this one. It comes in handy when I don't want to do my hair...which is damn near every day. Perhaps it's time to look for more bowler hats in different colors. I almost forgot I had these shoes!
I want to share my enthusiasm for a bit. Mikey will be a college graduate after this summer! He starts school back up in seven days and only needs two more classes to get his BA. I'm SO proud of him! I'm also happy I was able to convince him to walk the stage, as he initially thought it wasn't "a big deal" to do so. I almost had a heart attack. After all the years it took us to finally get our butts back into school, it is a MEGA BIG deal to walk that stage. I can't wait to see it happen. And Lordy, I can't wait till it's my turn, but I still have about two years. Blah.

ReplyDeleteAnd tell Mikey it's so silly not to walk, it's such a huge accomplishment and he should be so proud! Nothing wrong with celebrating your accomplishments.
As for 2 years of school left, yucky. Take it semester by semester and try not to look at the whole grand scheme of things.
Yeah, I am taking it pretty well. I actually love school (never thought I'd say it!), but it can get overwhelming with all the assignments and blah blah blah. However, seeing A's and 100's makes it all worth it. And really, every semester seems to go by in a blur, so I know I'll be graduating before I know it, too. :)

Thanks, girl!! The shoes are pretty bad ass, I must say. Especially the heel. I'd just forgotten about them because they're more of a bring-it-out-when-it's-summer shoe and it's always so fudging cold up here. :)

DeleteSounds like your summer is off to an awesome start. I really want to start watching True Blood - I watched part of the first season but watched it at a friends house and don't have cable. Did you buy the dvds or are they online? I also get consumed in shows once I start them. Eating a bunch of mexican food and sipping on margaritas sounds like heaven to me. I love your bowler hat! The other day I was wishing I had one, haha. Also - killer shoes. I am glad you talked Mikey in to walking - it is a really big deal!
ReplyDeleteI know that the show is offered on dvds through Netflix, but we actually watch it on an app (from the Xbox) called HBOGO. Our friend bought the app since he (nor we) have HBO and he just gave us his password for it so we use it everyday and can watch any and every HBO show - it's freaking awesome! Haha freeloaders. But oh, you need to watch True Blood. It's sooo sexy and thrilling. I seriously can't stop daydreaming about vampires. It's ridick.

Hahaha Fresh Prince! That is awesome! I actually just started re-watching Saved By the Bell. It totally takes me back to being a tween haha I love embracing the shows of my time and I think it's super great that you do as well. I'd love to have a bloggers night where we drank wine (you know, grown up things) and watched all the shows we loved in the 80's and 90's (our inner child celebration). Sounds like so much fun to me!

You know something sad? In my life, I have never had a margarita. I always want to. They always look so appetizing and I've tried everything else….but never a margarita. I need to get out more.
